China, Iraq, the UAE, Afghanistan and Turkey as the top five export destinations and China, the UAE, Turkey, India and Russia as the top five import destinations for Iranian goods were considered in April 2020.

Iran’s export value reached $ 6.4 billion and its import value reached $ 7.6 billion in the first quarter of this year, bringing its total trade value to $ 14 billion in the spring.

Iran’s exports reached $ 6.4 billion in the April 2020, which is 44% less than the $ 11.4 billion exports in the same period last year.

Iran’s exports were equivalent to 40 million tons in terms of weight in the April 2019, showing a 21.9 million ton increase compared to the same period this year.

The composition demonstrates a 45.1% decrease in Iran’s exports in terms of weight during the spring 2020.

During this period, Iran’s exports to China, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Turkey was $ 1.840 billion, $ 1.490 million, $ 970 million, $ 500 million and $ 250 million, respectively.

Accordingly, China accounted for 28.9% of Iran’s total exports in the first quarter of this year, and the share of Iraq, UAE, Afghanistan and Turkey in Iran’s total exports was 23.4%, 15.2%, 7.8%, and 3.9%, respectively.

Iran also imported $ 7.6 billion during the period, showing a decrease of 26.8% from $ 10.4 billion compared to the same period last year.

However, in terms of weight, Iran’s imports during this period were equal to 8.9 million tons, indicating only a decrease of 0.8% compared to the same period last year.

Iran imported 9.0 million tons of goods in the first quarter of the last year.

The five top export destinations for Iranian goods were China, UAE, Turkey, India and Russia. China’s exports to Iran during this period increased to $194000000. Also, Iran’s imports from the UAE increased to $ 1.700000000, from Turkey $ 820000000, from India $530000000 and from Russia $420000000.

Accordingly, the share of China, UAE, Turkey, India and Russia in the total import of Iran in the spring is 25.4%, 22.3%, 10.7%, 6.9% and 5.5%, respectively.

Moreover, the average export price of Iranian goods during the first quarter of this year was $ 290 per ton, which is an increase of 2.1 % compared to the same period last year.

However, the average import price of Iranian goods in the spring 2020 was equal to $ 854 per ton, indicating a decrease of 26.2% in the same period in 2019. The average price per ton of Iranian imported goods in the first quarter of 2019 was equal to $1157.
