The benefits of dates for fasting people

The benefits of dates for fasting people are numerous, and we examine some of them in this article.

Interestingly, the date consumption at iftar time fosters appetite control and precludes untimely overeating.

Since physical faintness or energy drop comes after individuals at the last hours of fasting, dates can compensate this energy loss in iftar and help the health of fasting people by regulating the body sugar.

Other sugars such as Jalebi and Bamiyeh are artificial and devoid of any useful materials for the body, except for their sweetness and pleasant tastes.

Possessing different kinds of vitamins, dates can assist with the body health of fasting individuals. Many people make a mistake by using different kinds of sweets and sweetmeats, which lead to overweight after Ramadan by time.

Since a fasting person does not use his digestive system for many hours, and his digestive system is practically in a statis state, he should consume a nutrient that prepares the digestive system to absorb other edibles at iftar time.

A date can easily prepare the digestive system to absorb other nutrients. Indeed, the sugar present in date is absorbed over time, and the fasting person and his digestive system regain the lost energy over time.

We can use dates together with warm water, tea, or other drinks such as milk. It is because the warm materials prepare the intestine and digestive system to absorb other nutrients.

Besides their medical and useful benefits, dates enjoy a special status in Islamic precepts, traditions, and the words of great Islamic characters. Furthermore, the holy Quran has introduced it as a heavenly fruit. This has led Muslims to value this fruit specifically.

The date benefits can help fasting people either at suhoor or iftar time.

Besides, the date tree, known as the palm tree, is also a holy tree, whose name has been repeated 42 times in the holy Quran. Thus, it efficiently displays its importance among the Muslims of other regions in the world.

The Islamic prophet (peace be upon him) has a tradition respecting the importance of dates. He states that any individual who breaks his fast by a halal date, the reward of his prayers becomes 400 times.

In another place, Imam Sadiq (PBUH) stated that the messenger of God used to break his fasts by dates at iftar time. Hence, it accurately shows the importance of dates at iftar time.

Moreover, the consumption of dates for diabetic people is not problematic. However, these individuals avoid overeating dates, and they’d better consult with their doctors though its consumption does not generally bring about any problem.

In the holy month of Ramadan, the consumption of dates has a manifold increase in our country as well as other Islamic nations. Even the date consumption also rises in those countries in which Muslims live beside other religions.

Interestingly, extensively diverse dates are produced in our country. Many of these dates are solely produced and grown in Iran, and other Arabic and date-cultivating countries cannot produce these date kinds.

The dates that are mostly used in Ramadan are the Zahedi, Mazafati, and Kabkab dates. These three kinds of dates are extensively used among people.

Many individuals only apply the term ‘date’ to any of these dates, and they are unaware of their full names. You can refer to the pages of these dates on the site for more information.
